One of the blander sets of the era, '88 Topps' long-run value has been hindered by the lackluster design, paucity of decent rookies, and overproduction -- as it was the dawn of The Junk Wax Era. Subsets include Record Breakers (1-7), All-Stars (386-407), Turn Back the Clock (661-665), and Team Leaders (scattered throughout the set). The manager cards also double as team checklists.
